Transplanting tomatoes into a larger planter
In this video, I'm moving my tomato plants out of their cramped little starter pots and into a roomy planter where they'll have space to really take off. If you've been growing tomatoes from seed or picked up some seedlings, this is the step that sets you up for a big harvest later on. I'll walk you through how I do the transplant, what to watch out for, and the one mistake you definitely want to avoid.
Time to give these tomatoes some breathing room! In this video I transplant my tomato seedlings from their small starter pots into a large planter, setting them up for healthy growth through the summer. It was a fun project, and I'm already looking forward to a big tomato harvest come late summer.
The most important takeaway: space out your tomato plants! They grow surprisingly large, and crowding them limits airflow, sunlight, and root room, which means fewer (and smaller) tomatoes. Give them the space they need now and your plants will thank you later.
